"Can you convince my husband?"

I can’t tell you how many times I’ve had potential clients ask me to call their _________ (insert: husband, sister, father, boyfriend, daughter etc.) to “convince them” to "let" my client get microblading because that individual was worried about the outcome and longterm effects of the procedure.

The people that are closest to you love (and are accustomed to) the way you look. They care about you. I get it!

And, let’s face it… saying “Hey babe, I’m gonna get a face tattoo, ok?” would only ever be received well by the coolest of cucumbers.

That’s why I wrote this blog post. Send this to your person. Thank me later…

On that note, hello! I’m assuming you’re here because someone close to you is thinking about getting microblading.

Microblading is a semi-permanent eyebrow tattoo that lasts an average of 12-18 months. It is created using a manual tool. I draw on each individual eyebrow hair to create an extremely natural look. Yes, your person wants to tattoo their face. Let’s accept that and move on…

BENEFITS:

-Decreases “getting ready” time in the morning (makeup doesn’t have to be applied to eyebrows) -Doesn’t sweat/wash off (many women hate that their brow makeup doesn’t withstand a gym, pool, or beach session) -Reduces stress (eyebrows are rarely symmetrical, and many women agonize over them) -Minimizes purchases and costs (most women try new brow makeup products multiple times per year trying to achieve the perfect look)

FYI: -I schedule a call with each potential client before booking an appointment to ensure they’re a good fit for microblading (there are several factors that impact candidacy).

-I use tools, math, and an app to analyse each client’s face and measure beautiful brows.

-The client has full decision making power: they can determine how thick/thin, how long, how much of an arch etc. -I have a range of pigment colour options. We determine a match based on the client’s natural hair colour and wishes.

-Microblading pigment is placed in the epidermis, which means it lasts about a year for most individuals. Regular tattoo pigment is placed deeper, in the dermis, which is why it lasts so long.

-I am certified, licensed, insured, and inspected by Ottawa Public Health. -I am award nominated and have consistent 5 star Google & Facebook reviews.

-It looks. So. Natural. (See before & after photo.)

"BUT I’VE SEEN MICROBLADING FAILS":

It’s true. There are absolutely horrible microblading and eyebrow tattoo fails. (Google it if you haven’t had the “privilege” of seeing any yet.) The biggest two factors that come into play, in my opinion, are the experience/skills of the artist, and the pigments/tools used.

Unfortunately, legislation hasn’t caught up to the art form in many cities including Ottawa. Microblading artists are not required to be certified, licensed, insured, or inspected by Public Health. (Absolutely shocking, I know.) Many individuals try to learn the art form from a quick online course or YouTube video, which obviously isn’t sufficient. Insert fails like asymmetry, bad shape, incorrect depth etc.

Microblading tools and pigments are readily available online, and not all are quality products. Because the pigment is being inserted into the skin, quality is everything. Insert fails like red/purple/blue brows, infections, and allergic reactions.

I pride myself on using the best of the best because my clients’ faces and longterm results are my priority. The pigments I use are exclusively made for microblading, which ensures successful application and excellent colour retention. The pigments are vegan friendly and have no heavy/toxic metals (which can be found in over 98% of semi-permanent pigment brands).

ME ON MY SOAP BOAX: Support your woman! Tattoos aren’t only for sailors, criminals, and prostitutes. Microblading saves people time, cuts down on stress, reduces the makeup/waxing/tinting budget, and gives clients an overall boost of confidence.

Feel free to send me a message if you have any questions.

xx Brit

My wife told me she was getting microblading done just weeks before our wedding. I was nervous, too! It turned out to be amazing, and I much prefer the look of the natural hairline strokes over any make-up she had worn previously. Just Browsing for the win!
